Najaf e-Municipality Solutions

    The Governorate of Najaf in Iraq has chosen ArabiaGIS to provide eGovernment and mapping solutions for Najaf’s governmental agencies and directorates in consecutive strategic phases. In Phase I of Najaf Municipality automation project, ArabiaGIS completed the works on automating the Lands and Incomes departments of Najaf Municipality. By introducing for the very first time in Iraq the concept of eServices, ArabiaGIS provided specialized services for one of the largest municipalities In Iraq by integrating state-of-the-art IT technologies and automating its internal business processes.

    The Governorate of Najaf in Iraq has chosen ArabiaGIS to provide eGovernment and mapping solutions for Najaf’s governmental agencies and directorates in consecutive strategic phases.

    In Phase I of Najaf Municipality automation project, ArabiaGIS completed the works on automating the Lands and Incomes departments of Najaf Municipality. By introducing for the very first time in Iraq the concept of eServices, ArabiaGIS provided specialized services for one of the largest municipalities In Iraq by integrating state-of-the-art IT technologies and automating its internal business processes.

    As a first step in the implementation of the eGovernment strategy, the solution empowered and optimized the local government and municipality’s internal work allowing them to provide interactive services for their communities.

    At this stage, the municipality electronic system covered the below areas:

    •   State property automation solution that organizes and allows the management of the property allotment process, the system manages the process from the very early stage where the citizen applies for a property, and manages all the phases of the application until delivery.
    •   Rents department automation solution that allows the municipality to manage its properties, rent contracts, and maintenance procedures.
    •   Incomes department automation solution that allows the municipality to manage the incomes’ databases and processes through the system.
    •   Archiving and document management solution that allows the municipality to electronically archive huge paper-sensitive documents.
    •   Job Tracking and correspondence solution that enables every department in the municipality to manage the applications and correspondences in an organized and tractable way with a powerful reporting capabilities.
    •   Municipality GIS Explorer that allows decision makers to undergo sophisticated analysis and querying in an easy-to-use interface allowing full control on customizable reports generated from connected systems of the municipality.
    •   Web Portal and eServices applications that allows citizens to interact with the municipality and benefit from a variety of web services, including:
      •   Online applications for municipal forms
      •   Job tracking application integrated with the internal system of the municipality that allows citizens to track their applications in the municipality.
      •   GIS services that shows the properties, projects, and tourist map of Najaf
